I cannot even begin to comprehend what would possess a human to beat an animal to near death, but I don't want to give that any more attention than it deserves.
Instead I choose to focus my attention and express my gratitude to the Ottawa Humane Society for not giving up on Breezy, giving her the best care possible and keeping us informed of her condition. The outpouring concern from public has been astounding. People want to know how Breezy is doing and they want to help her.
With today’s technology, we are inundated with the world’s problems. If we let it, it can consume us. Instead it's so important that we have hope. Hope for Breezy. Hope for humanity. Hope for a better world. And when so many people come together to care about and help a puppy they don't even know, it gives me hope.
Thankfully Breezy is in good hands now. She is recovering and even starting to trust and bond with the staff helping her. And though she still has a long road ahead of her, she will face it with loving and gentle hands.
Give your dogs an extra hug and kiss tonight and send good thoughts out for Breezy. Hopefully one day she too will have a family that deserves her love and loyalty.
