Dogs have different personalities, quirks and fears. My two huskies look alike but they have quite different reactions to loud sounds. One has no issues at all while the other is always terrified.
Well have no more fear, there’s an app for that!
The Brave Puppy app was inspired by Kasi & Luna, two Labradors who both had their own unique issues with different sounds. The app is a training tool that will help condition your dog to all kinds of sounds by using recordings that you play. You start on a low volume and work your way up based on your pup's reaction. By doing this in a controlled environment you allow your pup to get used to a sound on his own time and reward him along the way.
There are currently several service dog organisations using the Brave Puppy app free of charge to help expose future guide and support dogs to sounds. It features over 85 sounds ranging from children playing and doorbells to church bells and saws. What a great idea.
